The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced on Tuesday (March 31) that Ball State’s Patrick Rogers and Northern Kentucky’s Trace Klausing were selected as the MIVA Players of the Week. Rogers earned the Offensive Player of the Week award and Klausing picked up the Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rogers led Ball State to straight-set top-15 victories at Lindenwood and McKendree. The senior pin had eight kills at Lindenwood on .353 hitting and 17 kills at McKendree with a .625 clip. He added an ace against the Lions. For the week, Rogers averaged 4.17 kills per set while hitting .512. This is Rogers’ second Player of the Week award of the season and fourth of his career.
Klausing is the first Northern Kentucky player in program history be selected as a MIVA Player of the Week. He helped NKU to a pair of wins over Queens while averaging 2.50 digs per set. In the first match against the Royals, the freshman libero dug out eight attacks in five sets. A night later, he finished with 12 digs in three sets. He had just one reception error in 30 targets.
