The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced on Tuesday (Jan. 27) that Ball State’s Patrick Rogers and McKendree’s Sam Hoskin shared the Offensive Player of the Week honor while McKendree’s Tyler Tripp repeated as Defensive Player of the Week.
Rogers led the MIVA with 4.17 kills per set on an efficient .564 hitting percentage, leading Ball State to sweeps of Maryville and No. 20 Charleston. He also added four aces. This is Rogers’ third Player of the Week award in his career.
Hoskin led McKendree to two wins over No. 10 Penn State with 4.00 kills per set and a .473 hitting percentage. The outside hitter also had three aces. This is Hoskin’s second Player of the Week award in his career.
From the left side, Tripp led the Bearcats defensively in their wins over No. 10 Penn State with 2.57 digs and 0.57 blocks per set. He helped hold Penn State under .250 hitting in both matches. This is Tripp’s second Player of the Week award in his career, both coming in the last two weeks.
