Lewis Sweeps First MIVA Player of the Week Awards in 2026

Thanks to a 2-0 week highlighted by a 3-0 win at Stanford, Lewis swept the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Players of the Week, the MIVA announced on Tuesday (Jan. 13). Diego Estrada was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Daniel Haber was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Estrada led Lewis from the setter spot, dishing out 67 assists in six sets. He had 29 assists at Menlo, then followed it up with 38 assists and two aces in the Flyers’ 3-0 victory at Stanford. The Flyers hit over .300 in each contest, including a .355 performance at Stanford thanks to Estrada’s setting. He averaged 11.2 assists per set in the 2-0 week. This is Estrada’s first Player of the Week award.

On the defensive side, Lewis held Menlo to .093 and Stanford to .231 thanks in large part to Haber defense. He recorded seven digs in both matches. The senior outside hitter added three blocks at Menlo and four at Stanford. For the week, Haber averaged 2.33 digs and 1.17 digs per set en route to his first Player of the Week award in his career.
