The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced on Tuesday (April 9) that Loyola Chicago’s Parker Van Buren was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Lindenwood’s Clay Wieter picked up the Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Van Buren earned his second Player of the Week honor in a row after leading Loyola Chicago to a three-set win over Lewis. The redshirt-junior registered 21 kills (7.00 per set) on a .475 hitting percentage and added two assists and an ace. This is Van Buren’s third Offensive Player of the Week of the season and 11th of his career.

Wieter led Lindenwood to a pair of wins at Queens to help secure a top-four finish in the regular season. The outside hitter had 22 digs and a block in seven sets of action for a MIVA-best 3.14 digs per set over the week. This is Wieter’s second Player of the Week award of the season, first of the Defensive variety.
