The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced on Tuesday (March 12) that Lindenwood and McKendree picked up Player of the Week honors. Lindenwood’s Clay Wieter is the Offensive Player of the Week and McKendree’s D’Aaron McCraney earned the Defensive award.

Wieter, the homegrown outside hitter, led Lindenwood to a pair of wins, including a MIVA win over Quincy. Against the Hawks, he had 10 kills on 21 swings. Two days later, the redshirt-junior had 16 kills against Erskine on a .542 hitting percentage. For the week, he averaged 3.71 kills per set and hit .422. This is Wieter’s first Player of the Week award.

McCraney also paced McKendree to a perfect week, beating Missouri S&T, Erskine and Maryville. The junior middle blocker averaged 1.30 blocks per set in the three victories, including a season-high seven against Maryville. He added three against the other two foes. In addition to his blocks, he had two digs in each of the Erskine and Maryville matches. This is also McCraney’s first Player of the Week award.
