The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association selected Parker Van Buren and Nico Paula as the Players of the Week on Tuesday (March 7).
Van Buren pushed Loyola Chicago to a five-set win over Purdue Fort Wayne this week, which marked the Ramblers ‘ seventh-straight MIVA win. He registered 20 kills for an average of 4.00 kills with a .409 hitting percentage. This is the third time Van Buren was selected as the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week this season and ninth overall.
Paula led Lewis to a pair of road wins this week, picking up a MIVA win over McKendree and a non-conference win at Maryville. The libero had 15 digs with nine coming against MIVA foe McKendree. For the week, Paula averaged 1.86 digs per set for the Flyers. This is the freshman’s first Player of the Week award.
