The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced on Tuesday (March 15) that Loyola Chicago’s Parker Van Buren and Lewis’ John Davis were named the Players of the Week for week 10 of the men’s volleyball season.

Van Buren was named the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season after a dominate performance against Daemen. The redshirt-freshman Rambler had 31 kills in four sets of action, the most in the NCAA in a four-set match this season. While slamming down an impressive 7.75 kills per set, he also did it efficiently, hitting .521. He also pitched in two aces in the Ramblers’ 3-1 win against Daemen.

While Lewis fell in a pair of matches at Hawaii, Davis had a strong individual defensive performance, leading to his first Defensive Player of the Week award. The redshirt-sophomore had the second-most digs in a Lewis four-set match since 2005 when he dug out 19 Rainbow Warrior attacks in the second match. He finished the week with 3.50 digs per set and 0.33 blocks per set.
