Ohio State And Loyola Earn Final Weekly Honors of 2019

The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association has selected Ohio State's Jake Hanes as the Offensive Player of the Week and Loyola's Avery Aylsworth as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Hanes averaged 4.90 kills per set with a .333 attack percentage in the Buckeyes' wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and Ball State. He began the week by recording a career-high 30 kills in a win over No. 13 Purdue Fort Wayne. He registered a dozen of those kills in the 32-30 fourth set. Hanes was responsible for points number 31 and 32 on back-to-back kills. He came back the next night with 19 kills and a pair of aces in Ohio State's win over Ball State.

Aylsworth tallied 22 digs for an average of 3.14 digs per set over the course of Loyola's two straight-set victories. His 14 versus Lindenwood set a new season high for the libero. He then added eight digs in a sweep of Quincy the next day.
