Ramblers and Mastodons Pick Up MIVA honors

The week four Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors have been announced. Colton Stone of the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor. Luke Denton of the Loyola Ramblers picked up the Defensive Player of the Week.

This is Stone's first-career MIVA Player of the Week honor. He had 15 kills in both matches at Stanford, averaging 4.29 kills and 5.00 points per set for the weekend. In Saturday's (Jan. 26) match, he led all attackers from either team with 15 kills in three sets. He maintained a .372 (30-8-59) hitting percentage against the Cardinal, while also adding three aces on the weekend.

Denton, a freshman, led the team with nine total blocks over the weekend for an average of 1.29 per set. His five blocks at UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 26) set a new season high. Denton also logged 13 digs in his seven sets played to average a shade under 2.00 per set. The Ramblers defeated CSUN in three and fell to UCSB 3-1.
