The #7 ranked Lewis University Flyers were too much for the
Quincy University men's volleyball team as they handed the Hawks a
3-0 loss, winning 25-14, 25-13 and 25-15.

unstoppable and hit .520 in the three sets. Quincy was even with
the Flyers through the mid-way point of the opening set. Quincy was

control and scored 11 of the final 12 points in the set with a kill
from Steven
Battaglia being the only Hawk point to break up the
run.
The Hawks were within striking position in the second set as well,
trailing just 11-8 after a kill by Brian
Peth. However the Flyers used a 7-1 run to take
control and closed out the set with three straight points. The
pattern repeated itself in the third set as Quincy was down just
11-9 with serve. However Lewis rolled off five straight points to
pull away and held off any Hawk come back attempt.
Quincy finished the match with just 27 kills while committing 22
errors in 88 attempts. Lewis finished with 44 kills and just five
errors in 75 attempts while recording 8.5 total team blocks.
