IPFW's Darryl Shank Captures Third MIVA Player of the Week Honor of the Season
Columbus, OH - For the third time in the 2011
season and fifth time of his career, senior outside hitter Darryl
Shank has been honored as the MIVA Offensive Player of
the Week.
The London, Ont. native posted 20 kills and seven digs with a .350
hitting percentage Friday (Mar. 18) at Saint Francis (Pa.) before
adding 16 kills and nine digs in a loss to No. 9 Penn State on
Saturday (Mar. 19).
Shank's previous two honors came on Jan. 17 and Jan. 31 earlier
this season.
Shank is currently atop the IPFW kills category and sits in third
place overall in the MIVA.
The captain and his squad return to action Friday night (Mar. 25)
as they seek Head Coach Arnie
Ball's 500th career victory, playing host to the 11th
ranked Loyola Ramblers. First serve in the match is scheduled for 7
p.m. at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne.
