Hawks Top MSOE 3-0 For Sixth Straight Win
The Quincy University men's volleyball team topped the Milwaukee
School of Engineering 3-0 on the road on Thursday night to record
their sixth consecutive win. The Hawks won with ease, winning
25-15, 25-20 and 25-15 to improve to 14-8 on the season.
The Hawks offense was on fire all night long, hitting .392 as a
team with 36 kills and just seven errors. They improved their
attack percentage in each set of the match concluding the match by
hitting .591 in the third set. The Hawks also limited their
mistakes with just nine service errors while also compiling six
service aces.
After MSOE scored the first two points of the match the Hawks
rolled off seven straight to take command. Steven
Battaglia started the run for Quincy with three
consecutive kills off sets by Andrew
Ouano and Joseph Sokol added an ace while serving six
straight points for Quincy. MSOE committed attack errors on three
of the final five points of the set as Quincy took the game
25-15. The second set was an even battle with Quincy leading
just 22-20 late before back to back kills from Joseph Ascher gave
the Hawks some breathing room. Ouano finished off the game with a
service ace for Quincy.
MSOE jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the third set but the hawks did
not waver and unleashed a potent attack in which they finished with
14 kills and just one error. MSOE hit just .104 as a team with 28
kills and 20 errors. The Hawks were led by Steven
Battaglia's 11 kills while Joseph Ascher added 10 kills.
