Hawks Drop Second In A Row To Ball State
The Quincy University men's volleyball team dropped their second
match in as many nights to Ball State University, falling 3-1 in
Muncie, Indiana. After winning the first set 25-18 the Hawks were
swept in the final three 25-21, 25-20 and 25-20.
Quincy's hitting was inconsistent on the night, hitting over .330
as a team in both the first and third sets but under .032 in sets
two and four. The Hawks finished the match hitting .182 as a team
with 53 kills and 31 errors while Ball State hit .243 as a team
with 44 kills and just 19 errors.
Quincy played much better than the previous night as they committed
just one service error and had three sets with a side out
percentage over 50-percent. Quincy placed three players in double
figures in kills with Joseph Sokol leading the way with 16 kills
while Ryan Lehmann and Joseph Ascher each added 12 kills. Andrew
Ouano finished with 47 assists and five digs.
Quincy is now 8-8 overall and 0-5 in the MIVA while Ball State
improves to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in the MIVA.
