Hawks Sweep Rust

The Quincy University men's volleyball team was too much for Rust College as the Hawks picked up a pair of 3-0 wins on the road on Sunday, sweeping the Bearcats.

The Hawk attack was formidable all day long and started as they hit .415 as a team in the first match. The Hawks powered their way to a 25-18, 25-16 and 25-10 win as they finished with 40 kills and just 13 errors in only 65 attack attempts. The Hawks recorded double digits in kills in each of the three sets while Rust hit just .024 as a team with 11 kills and 10 errors. 

Quincy had a balanced attack with Gavin Mueller leading the way with eight kills and Steven Battaglia and Andrew Ouano each adding six kills. Ouano also finished with 22 assists and Quincy recorded 20 eservice aces in the match.

The Hawks hitting cooled off in the second match but they were still able to win 25-16, 25-20 and 25-23. The Hawks hit .212 as a team with 37 kills and 19 errors while Rust hit .154 as a team with 14 kills and eight errors. 

The Hawks were led by Ethan Freeman's 13 kills while Rob Courtney added 15 assists and Josh Farrell finished with nine digs. Quincy now stands at 8-6 overall this season.
