Grand Canyon loses finale at Lewis
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- Grand Canyon lost its Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular season finale to Lewis University 3-0 at Neil Carey Arena Saturday.
GCU (14-25, 1-11) lost by set scores of 30-15, 30-21, 30-24. The
'Lopes will finish as the MIVA's No. 7 seed and play at either
Loyola-Chicago or Ohio State in the first round of the conference
tournament next Saturday.
On Saturday, sophomore Brock Hutchins (Gilbert,
Ariz./Highland/Hawai'i) had nine kills, one service ace
and four block assists. Freshman libero Trent Bruns
(Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) had nine digs.
Frosh setter Brad Moore (Orange, Calif./Lutheran)
had 23 assists, five digs, one solo block and two block assists.
Sophomore Taylor Griffin (Tucson, Ariz./Ironwood
Ridge) added six
kills.
