(Chicago, Ill.) The Quincy University men's volleyball team was swept on the road 3-0 by the Loyola University of Chicago. The Hawks dropped their third match in a row, falling 30-21, 30-22 and 30-26.
Quincy trailed just 11-10 in game one before Loyola went on a 7-2 run to pull away. Loyola hit a match high .533 in the first set with 19 kills and just three attack errors in only 30 attempts. Quincy meanwhile, after hitting .257 in the first game, saw their team hitting percentage drop drastically in the following two games.
Quincy hit just .087 in game two and .033 in game three which concluded with just eight kills in the game. Loyola on the other hand hit .312 and .135 in the final two games, recording 16 kills in each set.
After committing 19 service errors on Friday night the Hawks did reduce their total on Saturday with just eight but it was not enough as Loyola finished with 10 service aces. Quincy was led by Chris Zeidler's nine kills while Dan Dresen finished with 27 assists.
Quincy falls to 4-9 overall and 1-4 in the MIVA. They return to action on Monday, March 8th with a road match against Fontbonne University.
