Peter Jasaitis, a redshirt sophomore libero for 13th-ranked Loyola-Chicago (19-11 / 8-4 MIVA), has been named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season (Feb. 6 & March 12).
In helping lead the No. 3 seeded Ramblers to a 3-1 MIVA Tournament quarterfi nal victory over No. 6 seed IPFW, Jasaitis racked up 14 digs for a 3.50 digs-per-set average, well above his season mark of 2.76.
In addition, he turned in a .957 (22-for-23) reception percentage, while handing out three assists. His effort in the backcourt helped limit the Mastodons to a .128 hitting percentage. Jasaitis enters the MIVA Tournament semifi nals ranked first in the conference with a 2.76 digs-per-set average this season.
